industrially compostable growth foam for vegetables
Vegetables grown in hydroponics require a stable and airy growing base. Tectofoam Plugs are specially developed to optimally support young plants. Thanks to their open structure, the substrate remains well-aerated, even immediately after watering, preventing excess moisture and keeping the roots healthy.
The top of the plug remains dry, which helps prevent moss and algae growth and ensures cleaner cultivation. The high-quality substrate, developed with years of experience, provides a reliable foundation for strong root development and consistent production.
The substrate is tailored to the correct pH and EC values for an optimal start for your crops.
The plugs remain intact and do not disintegrate throughout the entire growth period. This keeps the growing water and the plant free of compost. The plant roots can be industrially composted with the remaining Tecto growth foam.
technical principle
TectoFoam is produced from a compact foam combined with carefully selected organic nutrients. The material is light, handy and stimulates healthy sprouting and optimal root development.
- Organic matter content: > 30%
- Water absorption capacity: 300–500% of dry weight
- Air content at water saturation: 20–30%
- Bulk density: 0.2 g/cm³
- EC value: 200–300 µS/cm
- pH value: 5.6–6.6
